TERRIO Therapy-Fitness, Inc, Kern County’s leading provider of physical, occupational, speech, aquatic, and women's health therapy services, has contracted to provide physical and occupational therapy services with Bakersfield Memorial Hospital (BMH) since 2003. BMH has over 250 general acute beds over 45 specialty intensive care or post anesthesia care beds 13 operating rooms; a heavily used Emergency Room with a Chest Pain Center; a Birthing Center with a full-service NICU four Cardiac Catheterization labs; a full complement of diagnostic laboratory and imaging services; and outpatient surgery.

TERRIO Therapy-Fitness currently provides over 20 staff members to service BMH. With the current planned expansion program of BMH, we anticipate adding an additional 3-4 physical therapists and 2-3 occupational therapists over the next couple of years.

365 days a year, every BMH physical therapy patient is seen every single day, every day of the week. TERRIO’s skilled professionals treat patients with all types of illnesses and injuries, including, but certainly not limited to, stroke, heart attack, stomach surgery, limb amputation, head injury, central nervous system disease, multiple fractures, etc.

TERRIO’s specialty is their unmatched orthopedic program. Every patient with orthopedic needs (total hip and/or knee replacement, hemi-knee replacement, hip fracture repairs, neck and back surgeries, etc) is seen 2 times per day, 7 days a week. Couple this with TERRIO’s pre-surgery physical therapy and in-home evaluation, and it’s no wonder the patients going through BMH’s orthopedic program have seen unmatched success rates. Credit is also be shared with the insurance and health care agencies who recognize and support this program, as well as the orthopedic surgeons who utilize this phenomenal program.

To prepare those who need to work on activities of daily living, TERRIO provides BMH patients with the finest occupational therapists (OT’s) available. Acute patients are seen by Terrio OT’s daily, and those in sub-acute are seen 3-5 days per week to expedite recovery and return to normal function.
